1301. புல்லா திராஅப் புலத்தை அவர் உறும்
அல்லல்நோய் காண்கம் சிறிது.
Feign sulk; embrace him not so that 1301

1302. உப்பமைந் தற்றால் புலவி அதுசிறிது
மிக்கற்றால் நீள விடல்.

1303. அலந்தாரை அல்லல்நோய் செய்தற்றால் தம்மைப்
புலந்தாரை புல்லா விடல்.
To leave the sulker unembraced 1303
Is to grieve the one sorely grieved.

1304. ஊடி யவரை உணராமை வாடிய
வள்ளி முதலரந் தற்று.
To comfort not lady in pout 1304
Is to cut the fading plant at root.

1305. நலத்தகை நல்லவர்ககு ஏஎர் புலந்தகை
பூஅன்ன கண்ணார் அகத்து.
Pouting of flower-eyed has 1305
To pure good mates a lovely grace.

1306. துனியும் புலவியும் இல்லாயின் காமம்
கனியும் கருக்காயும் அற்று.
Love devoid of frowns and pets 1306
Misses its ripe and unripe fruits.

1307. ஊடலின் உண்டாங்கோர் துன்பம் புணர்வது
நீடுவ தன்று கொல் என்று.
"Will union take place soon or late?" 1307
In lover's pout this leaves a doubt.

1308. நோதல் எவன்மற்று நொந்தாரென்று அ·தறியும்
காதலர் இல்லா வழி.
What's the good of grieving lament 1308
When concious lover is not present?

1309. நீரும் நிழலது இனிதே புலவியும்
வீழுநர் கண்ணே இனிது.
Water delights in a shady grove 1309
And sulking in souls of psychic love.

1310. ஊடல் உணங்க விடுவாரொடு என்நெஞ்சம்
கூடுவேம் என்பது அவா.
My heart athirst would still unite 1310
With her who me in sulking left!
